Each day has 1,440 minutes in it, and yet there are times there appears to be not enough minutes in a day. You wake up every morning ready to tackle the day or you may plan your day the night before, but by the end of the day you realized that you didn't accomplish most of things you needed to do. You find yourself asking the question, "Where did the time go?" It is a question I asked myself, most days.
Each day has 1,440 minutes in it. No one can control the time, but everyone can control how they use their time. Scripture tells us, "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is" (Ephesians 5:16-17).
Each day has 1,440 minutes in it. But do you ever find that you are too busy for a daily chat with God? When we allow our schedule to make us too busy, this draws us away from God. It's time to take a long look at your priorities and values. When organizing your daily schedule, organize your life around one simple principle, "God comes first." "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Proverbs 16:3).
Each day has 1,440 minutes in it. How do you place God in your life? Place God where He belongs - as the Head of your life and the very center of your day and life. Scriptures tells us, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:83). God needs to be the #1 priority in our lives. God doesn’t want to have to compete for attention for a spot on your long list of things to do. God wants a relationship with you. He wants you to spend time with Him. He wants you to talk to Him, to tell Him about your weaknesses, your failures, victories, problems, or whatever is on your mind. "O my people, trust him all the time. Pour out your longings before him, for he can help?" (Psalm 62:8)
There are 1,440 minutes in a day. How many of those minutes are you going to spend with God? The unnecessary time you spend on Social Media, some of that time could be dedicated to God. It doesn’t matter what time of day we spend with God, He just wants us to take time out of each day to talk to Him. "Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually" (1 Chronicles 16:11).
I know that your days are extremely busy, but you can find quality time to spend with God. While taking a shower you could have a praise-fest going on. You can talk to Him while getting dressed, commuting to work or back home. You could talk to Him while exercising, doing the dishes, while cooking, doing laundry. You could talk to Him before getting out of bed or if you wake up in the middle of the night. It doesn’t matter how long you talk to God, as long as you do. Not rushed or feeling obligated, but a sincere candid conversation, like talking to your best friend.
God is available twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. He is always available and He is never too busy to engage with us. You can talk to Him at anytime, any place, anywhere, and at all times. He is a great listener, an excellent helper, and the very best friend you will ever have. There is 1,440 minutes in a day, how many minutes of the day will you spend talking to your Bestie? "Pray all the time. Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirit's wishes. Plead with him, reminding him or your needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere" (Ephesians 6:18).
