HERO!

Updated: Mar 31, 2023

How would you define a hero? A hero is a real person or a main fictional character who, in facing danger, combats adversity through feat of ingenuity, courage, or strength. Qualities of a hero includes, but not limited to, loyalty, compassion, sacrifice, bravery, conviction, courage, determination, helpful, honesty, inspirational, moral integrity, dedication, valor, selfless, perseverance, and fortitude.

Movies are always telling stories about heroes. Some are non-fictional and some are fictional stories such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Superwoman, Spider Man, Iron Man, Thor, Cinderella, Maleficent, Black Swan, Hansel & Gretel, Snow White, etc.

Heroes have empathy toward others and understand other people's perspective. Heroes are concern for the well-being of others. Heroes have very special skills and displays much strength. Heroes are extremely competent and very confident (most times). Heroes have strong moral characters. Heroes understand and knows that there is a fear factor involved at times and yet they are not afraid to face them.

The Bible tells us about some real life heroes and there are so many of them. Abraham was a hero in the Bible. At the age of 75, God directed him to leave the land of his people and family to go to a foreign land. He married Sarah and she was infertile, although God promised him that he would be the father of a great nation. God told him that his offspring would be as the stars in the sky, he wouldn't be able to count them. He believed the promises of God and God called him His friend. When Abraham was 100 years old, his son Isaac was born. Abraham absolutely trusted God by faith.

Esther and Mordecai were heroes in the Bible. Esther was an orphan, adopted and raised by her cousin Mordecai. Esther was chosen for King Ahasuerus, the king of Persia, because of her beauty and intelligence. King Ahasuerus was so pleased with her that he crowned her as his queen. Mordecai had a enemy and his name was Haman. Haman hated Mordecai so much that he had the king to sign a decree to killed all the Jews in the Persia Empire. It was the love of their people that saved the Jews of Persia from genocide.

David was a hero in the Bible. When he was a young boy he was a shepherd. He was strong and brave, he killed a lion, a bear, and a giant. He was anointed to be king of Israel at a young age. He had to constantly run for his life, because King Saul wanted to kill him, but David never lifted a hand to harm King Saul in anyway. Later when David became king, he had to flee his throne, because his son Absalom wanted to kill him. In David's adult life, he sinned, he murdered, he confessed his sins, and he wept over them. God said that David was a man after His own heart.

I would like to introduce you the greatest Hero of all times. He is not just a Hero, but a Superhero. He is the Bread from Heaven and the Bread of Life. He is the Heir of all things. He is our High Priest. He is the Holy and Righteous One. He is the Lamb of God and the Light of the World. He is the Tribe of Judah and Lord of all. He is the Lord or lords, King of kings, and God of gods. He is the Bright and Morning Star. He is the Perfecter of our faith and Prince of Peace. He is the Resurrection and the Life. He is the Ruler of God's Creation. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. WOW!

The entire Bible is all about Him. The Old Testament talks about the coming King and the New Testament tells us about this King's life, death, resurrection, and His second coming. He is the Living Word. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it" (John 1:1-5). Isn't this mind-blowing?

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). DROP THE MIC! Not only was Christ there in the beginning, He came down from His regal throne in heaven, took the form of a human baby, grew up like we all did. He wasn't even born into a wealthy family. "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him." He grew up to be a man and He never sinned. Awesome!

He didn't have a medical degree, but He is the Best Healer the world has ever had and will ever have. He never took a psychology class, yet He is a Mighty Counselor and He can help you with any mental or emotional trauma. He has more followers than all of FaceBook, Twitter, and Instagram, together. Oooh wee!

"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority" (Colossians 2:9). Him and the Father are One. There is only one God, but He exists in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. The Father is not the same person as the Son, nor is the Son the same person as the Holy Spirit.

The greatest Hero of all times and forevermore shall be, is JESUS CHRIST! He came to earth as a baby then grew to be a man. Totally sinless! He healed, he taught, he corrected, he led, he fed, he died, and he rose from the dead. There He sits in heaven on the right hand side, on the throne with our Father. He is a heart changer, a mind regulator, our Protector, our Provider, our Sustainer, our Savior, our Redeemer, and our Friend. Despite of our sins, He loves us totally unconditionally. He makes intercessions for us, to the Father. He has prepared a place for us in heaven. He is the greatest of all times! My Hero. Our Hero. What a HERO! No. HE IS A SUPERHERO!
