HOPE!

I have been studying Romans 5:1-5. I have been meditating on verses 3 and 4, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character, and character hope.” This morning, and for the past few mornings, I woke up thanking God for “HOPE”.

Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. We all are hoping for something and without hope the people will perish. What does HOPE mean in the Bible? “HOPE” is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness.

Hope is like the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope is a gift from God to encourage us in times when we are feeling down. To have hope is to want an outcome that makes our life better in some way. It not only can help make a tough situation more bearable, but also can eventually improve our lives, because envisioning a better future motivates you to take the steps to make it happen.

Hope, is looking on the bright side and seeing challenges as opportunities. In other words, “hoping for the best”. Hope is a desire for things to change for the better and to want that better situation very much. “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

Hope gives you a vision of what can or will happen. Whether it happens or not, just envisioning it can make you feel better. It can help motivate you to take whatever steps you need to take. Ask yourself, what is it that you are hoping for? If you say “nothing," Houston, we have a problem.”

To hope is very important, because “HOPE," is having a light while you are in darkness. This light is Jesus, who helps reveal the path ahead, to show you the way out.

God knows our beginning and ending. What is impossible to man is possible to God. Hope isn’t faith. It is not hope that makes things happen, it is faith. God’s Word tells us, let the confessions of your mouth be pleasing to God. We know that faith pleases God, and without faith it is impossible to please God. It is important to spend time in the Word, because “faith” comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.

Things that we are hoping for doesn’t always happen immediately and sometimes we just don’t understand that we are on a road that is full of road blocks and obstacles. We need faith, bravery, steadfastness, and tenacity to help us persevere toward our vision and goals. Being grounded in the Word of God is the pillar of our strength.

Never lose your hope. It is hope that sustains hope, and hope that will bring us through. Keep your eyes on the prize, and your faith will become unshakeable.

LET’S KEEP “HOPE” ALIVE!
