Nosy is an adjective and it is defined as a person or their behavior that show too much curiosity about other people's affairs.
When I was a young girl, we lived in a small community where everybody had something in common, we were all poor. Everybody knew everybody. My grandmother was a LPN nurse and everyone knew her, so that meant everybody knew who we belonged to.
It appeared that they also knew everybody's business. I always accused everybody of just being nosy, especially the older people. I would see my mother, peeping through the blinds watching what was going on at our neighbor's apartment. If it was night-time, she would cut off all the lights, so that they couldn't see her peeping at them. I would just look at her and say that older people, male and female alike, are just outright nosy and say to myself, when I get old, I am not going to be like that. What's that old saying? Never say never!
Now, I do declare, I am my mother's child and I do occasionally have a sense of the "nosy." An U-haul has just pulled up to my neighbor's house and a conversation is in progress. I am peeping out of the bedroom window, but I can't hear what is being said, because my little dog is barking. I shushed her to be quiet, because I am now invested in this event and I must get to its conclusion. WOW, I guess I am one of those older nosy people.
I do believe that there are two types of nosy, a good one and a bad one. If you care about someone, sometimes you have to be nosy, the good nosy, because you are looking out for their best interests. People like your grandparents, parents, friends, relatives, and people in general.
Did you know that when it comes to God's children, He is extremely nosy? Did you know that God is always watching us? He watches us to see if His children is going to live up to our full potential.
I praise God for His nosiness. God who is always watchful, He never misses anything that is going on in our lives. I am thankful that He sees me when I am discouraged, and He gives me the encouragement that is needed. When I am hurting, He heals my wounded broken spirit. When I am betrayed, He lets me know that all will be well, and reminds me that He too was betrayed. When someone has mistreated me or have taken advantage of me, He reassures me that no one gets away with anything, because they will reap what they sow. He always let me know, no matter what's the situation, He sees all things. He has been through it all with me. He feels my pain. He cares for me and for you. He will see us through whatever giants we face.
I love the idea that God is watching me and it brings me comfort. He shows up where there are times I feel like giving up. He has always been there for me. Through every season of my life, God was there. It's good to know that as just as God watches over me, He will watch over you. "The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." (Psalm 121:5-8)
God sees us at our worst and sees our mess, but He stills loves us. He still watches over us in spite of ourselves. God who is all-knowing, all-powerful, an omnipresent God, is present everywhere at the same time and is always watching, because He just loves us.
Through it all, He reminds us that He is nosy and He is suppose to be nosy. We don't have any business that is not His business.
"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I run away from where you are? If I go up to heaven, You are there! If I make by bed in the place of the dead, You are there! If I take the wings of the morning of live in the farthest part of he sea, even there Your hand will lead me and Your right hand will hold me. If I say, "For sure the darkness will cover me and the light around me will be night," even the darkness is not dark to You. And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same to You." (Psalm 139:7-12)
