Do you know what a Bobblehead is? A Bobblehead, also known as a nodder, is a collectible doll. It's head is bigger than its body. You see, if you tap its head, the head will go up and down, just nodding.
Visually, when one nods his or her head, up and down, it is a visual sign of saying yes to a reply, or that you are in agreement with them. When we go to church, while listening to the sermon, when we nod our heads, we are in agreement with what is being said about the written Word. We are acknowledging and saying yes to its truth.
The Bobblehead is designed so its head is always nodding up and down, saying yes. Its head never shake from left to right. The left and right movement of the head is the "no" sign. If you are not in agreement with something, the visual head movement will be from left to right.
Case in point, if you ask a child do they want some candy, they will not only answer yes, they will also nod their head to say yes. Well, on that note, God always have our best interest at hand, right? He will never do anything that will hurt us. He loves us and cares for us. Our heads, when it comes to God, should always be in the Bobblehead nod, going up and down, saying "yes Jesus, I will do your will." But if Jesus wants us to do something that we don't want to do, our heads and hearts are no longer in the Bobblehead nod. We freezes and become hardheaded. No, I have a better word, one used often in the Bible. We become "stiff-necked," causing our heads and hearts to go from left to right, simply saying, "no" to Jesus. I am scared of you!!!!
"Stiff-necked," literally means "hard of neck." Figuratively, as used in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, the word means "stubborn," or "not to be led." Oh, I beg your pardon, as good as God has been to you, you have the nerves to be ungrateful and disobedient to God, by saying "no" to God.
When our will lines up with God's will, what a glorious time we will have in the Lord! As children of God, we are truly blessed, indeed! It is God who has brought us this far and he has always been our Protector, Provider, Sustainer, Benefactor, and our All-in-All. Our heads should always be in a Bobblehead position for Christ.
So, go ahead and get your nod on, by saying YES to Christ! Bobblehead! Bobblehead! BOBBLEHEAD some more!
