CARPE DIEM - SEIZE THE DAY!

Updated: Feb 16, 2021

Carpe Diem is used to urge someone to make the most of the present time and give little thought to the future. Carpe Diem is a Latin phrase meaning “seize the day.” Carpe diem was a phrase used by the Roman poet Horace to express the idea that one should enjoy life while you can.

How would you use it in a sentence? His attitude towards his life is carpe diem. Carpe diem! You only live once, so don’t waste it. In other words, tomorrow isn’t promised, so don’t wait for tomorrow to do something, but to do it today. Matthew 6:34 says, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Today, is the gift that God gave to us. We must enjoy each day that is given to us. How? By basking in His incredible goodness. Smile at His glorious Splendor. Be refreshed by His Spirit. Be satisfied in the showering of His Love for us.

We should enjoy His presence. Savior the benefits of His generosity. Take advantage of His forgiveness. Focus on His compassion. Dream about our future with Him. Relish in His kindness. Rejoice in His goodness. Hope in His Word. Embrace His promises.

Proverbs 27:1, reminds us not to boast about tomorrow, because tomorrow isn’t promised to us.

NO, TOMORROW ISN’T PROMISED TO US!

So we need to do what we need to do, today.

Don’t wait to receive Jesus, if you haven’t.

Don’t put off doing the will of God today.

Don’t wait to tell someone that you love them.

Don’t wait to get your praise on. Do it now, today.

You don’t know what tomorrow holds or even it you will be here tomorrow or if tomorrow is even coming.

Keep your focus on God. Trust in Him, and do His will today.

SAY THIS: I will do God's will for me, TODAY!

For at the end of the day, all we want to do is experience God’s love, receive His approval and His acceptance, today.

So, let’s:

Learn from the past,

Live for the day, and

Trust in the future, TODAY.

LET’S SEIZE THE DAY, TODAY!
