DESPERATE DAYS!

Is there a special faith for desperate days? There is a special faith for desperate days. The Bible is full of stories of such days. The Bible's recordings is made of them. Its songs are inspired by them. Its prophecy is concerned with them. And in the book of Revelation, faith has come through them.

Don't believe me? Read the prayers of Jehoshaphat and Hezekiah, when they didn't know what to do. Then go over and read the Historical Books in the Bible, Joshua, Ruth, 1 Samuels, 2 Samuels, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther.

Ask the three Hebrews boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, about their desperate days that required desperate faith. They told King Nebuchadnezzar, "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand...but NEVERTHELESS..."

Listen to the prophets, those inspired preachers, tell you about their desperate days which brought about their desperate faith. They are in those prophetical books consisting of sermons with brief connecting and explanatory messages. With two of prophetical books, Ezekiel and Daniel, have a different character and are largely apocalyptic.

Then listen to the apostles tell their story of desperate days and their desperate faith, as they talk about the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ. As they tell the amazing story of His manifestation and His rejection.

Then stand still in the darkness of Gethsemane at Jesus' crucifixion. Then look at awesomeness of His resurrection, and His ascension. Desperate days created desperate faith, when the apostles recorded the descent of the Holy Spirit, and the beginning of a new thing in human history, the Church.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures and only desperate faith can lead you out of any despair. Now go ahead and sing your favorite song about your desperate days that manifested your desperate faith. Mine is, "I Must Tell Jesus."

I must tell Jesus all of my trials;

I cannot bear these burdens alone;

In my distress He kindly will help me;

He ever loves and cares for His own;

"Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk; and not faint." (Isaiah 40:28-31)
