GIANTS

Giants, we all have faced them. What giant or giants are you facing today?

Do you know the story of David and Goliath? Of course you do! The Israelites were God's chosen people and the Philistines were their enemy. An offer was given to Israel to send their champion to fight against the Philistine's champion, who was Goliath.

For forty days, Goliath called for a challenger and for forty days Goliath taunted Israel. Then David showed up. David was not a soldier, he was just a boy. He had no helmet, no spear, no sword, and no armor.

When the Lord is on your side you don't have to be afraid and you can face any giant. When life seems hopeless and when there seems to be no way out of a situation, God is able to make a way out of no way.

The giant you may be facing today, may not be a Goliath, but a giant is a giant. Problems are giants. Trouble is a giant. Concerns are giants. Health problems feel like gigantic giants. Financial problems are huge giants. Marital and relationship problems are giants. Employment problems are giants. Children problems are giants. VISA, MasterCard, Discover, Mortgage, Utilities bills, are all giants. Selfishness, unkindness, mistreatment, a broken heart, dishonesty, mistrust are giants too.

Like Goliath taunted Israel, these giants are taunting you. They are intimidating you. They are scarring you, putting fear in you. I have some very good news for you. Jesus can help you face your giants and you can walk away being victorious. Jesus has helped so many of His children fight their giants. He was with them when they had to stand toe to toe with their giants and they came out on top!

Psalm 27:1-2 reassures us that Jesus will always be there for us in times of needs, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; whom shall I be afraid. When the wicked even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell."

A word of advise, watch who you tell your business to. There are a lot of "nay sayers" out there. Satan will send them to discouraged you. They will give you bad advice. They have a defectist attitude. They will tell you that the odds are against you and its impossible to defect your giants. The devil is a liar! God specializes in the impossible. With God all things are possible and you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

Did David listened to King Saul when Saul said, "How can a kid like you fight with a man like him? You are only a boy and he has been in the army since he was a boy!" (1 Samuel 17:33). No, David did not listen.

David started explaining to Saul what had happened to him and he responded, "When I am taking care of my father's sheep, a lion or a bear comes and grabs a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and take the lamb from its mouth. If it turns on me I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. I have done this to both lions and bears, and I will do it to this heathen Philistine too, for he has defied the armies of the living God" (1 Samuel 17:34-36).

When enough is enough, we have to confront our giants. It's fighting time! There is no more time for lip service, talking is now over. It's time to fight! Don't be afraid and don't be discouraged. Victory is yours, in the name of Jesus!
