HEARTLESS!

Heartless is being insensitive, unkind, ruthless, harsh, inhuman, callous, brutal, cruel, cold-blooded, merciless, uncaring, cold-hearted, obdurate, pitiless, savage, thick-skinned, unemotional, and unfeeling.

"Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord, but the blameless in their ways are His delight. Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished; but the posterity of the righteous will be delivered." (Proverbs 11:20-21)

I have had more than my fair share of dealing with some of the most heartless people. My mother would call them, "a tough egg to crack." Like a person who becomes injured and develops a scab on that injured spot, so is the same thing that happens to someone's heart, they grow a scab on their heart. That person develops a hard heart.

These types of people are mean-spirited and cold-hearted. They will not believe in the Word of God nor can they received God's Word, because it can't penetrate a hard heart. Or if it does, God's Word will not go very deep.

The hardest thing about a hard-hearted person, is that they are the last to know that they are heartless. Hard-hearted people are usually this way because something in their past made them this way. They trusted someone and they were hurt, betrayed, or rejected.

Heartless or hard-hearted people usually have the need to be right and often perceived as self-righteous. Some are bad and some are not bad, but just broken.

So how do you heal a heartless or hard-hearted person? Unless they allow the Lord to heal their heart, they will never get past the place of a wounded heart. The only thing that I know that is strong enough to soften a hard heart, is the blood of Jesus.

Know this, Jesus suffered. Jesus was abused. Jesus was rejected. Jesus was lied on and talked about. Jesus was wounded. Jesus suffered verbal abuse and He was insulted. Jesus also was physically abused. There is nothing that any of us has suffered that Jesus has not already been through. Jesus has suffered just like us, but we have NOT suffered as He has.

Jesus can take that heart of stone and give that heartless person a brand new heart. There is healing and power in the blood of Jesus.

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of the flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:26)
