OUT OF ORDER

One of the most annoying things is to be hungry or thirsty and go to a vending machine to discover that it has an “out of order” note posted on it. We tend to, once we read the sign, just stand there looking at the machine and glancing at the note like something magical is going to happen. Like we are going to “will” it to start operating, to give us our desired product. It’s the same with an elevator. We rush into a building, maybe on vacation or an appointment and what do we see posted on the only elevator in the building, “Out of order”.

That “out of order” sign sometimes causes our mind to go into overtime screaming, “what now”. You began to access the options to fulfill your immediate need or to reach your desired destination.

There are some days that we wake up with an “out of order” sign stamped on our foreheads. We wake up with a feeling that this day is going to be a bad day. We wake up, all out of whack, with something hurting or someone complaining, or we are in a bad mood. We know that when we get out of bed, we will be greeted by chaos and chaos has many friends. So what do we do? We confront chaos with the Word of God, through prayer and with scripture. God’s word has power. When we speak it and believe it, we activate its power. Picture the power of prayer, as a superhero. Let's say that the super hero can only have power if you activate it.

The book of Ephesians, chapter 6, describes our super hero as a warrior. Dress in combat ready fashion, in full battle armor. He is in full armor because God reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers and against spiritual forces of evil. So our warrior is dressed in full gear.

Just like the Combat Warrior, we have to prepare for battle. We must stand firm with the belt of truth, with the breastplate of righteous, with our feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. If we want to activate the “armor of God” Then we have to take up the shield of faith to deflate those fiery arrows of evil coming at us. We need the helmet and sword which is the Word of God. We must pray at all times with all kinds of prayers and requests.

All we need to do, through faith, is to activate our Super strength through our Super power by saying, “Armor of God," I activate you. Step back and watch the power of God. Now that feeling of “out of order” has been removed. Now we are kicking with all cylinders, now we are “in service” and it’s business as usual.

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness. And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” Ephesians 6:13-17.

“Armor of God”, ACTIVATED!
