PRAISEFEST

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

There are many states across the U.S. that host a PRAISEFEST. Church choirs, gospel bands and other groups create a joyful noise at a particular time of year, every year. It’s a celebration of Jesus through Gospel music.

In addition to the hand-clapping, foot-stumping sounds of Gospel music, there are usually some motivational speakers, as well as, arts and crafts and other items for sale. There are also, some pop-up music stores selling CDs and tapes of the many acts and artists that performs there.

The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all. Bless the Lord, you His angels who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, you ministers of His, who do His pleasure. Bless the Lord all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord O my soul!” Psalm 103:19-22.

In this section of Psalm 103, there is something very exciting and interesting that is going on. The angels in heaven are having a Hallelujah good time. There is a massive Praisefest going on in heaven. The psalmist wants to join in the choir of praise and when he says, “Bless the Lord O my soul”, He is saying, “As for me - I, too, will praise the Lord”.

Remember the four creatures described in Revelation 4:6-8, they continually praise God, day and night singing ‘Holy, holy, holy’. They give glory, thanks, and honor to the One on the throne. What a "Praisefest!"

Praise, according to the Scriptures, is an act of our will that flows out of an awe and reverence for our Creator. Praise gives glory to God and opens us up to a deeper union with Him. It turns our attention off of our problems and on to the nature and character of God Himself.

God is worthy of our praises. He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is our Provider, Protector, Redeemer, Healer, Refuge, Deliverer, Judge, Defender, and so much more. On this note, we should have a daily Praisefest. When we open our eyes in the morning, the Praisefest should begin.

Wait a minute, let me get my praise on. I praise the Lord our God for who He is. His greatness is unsearchable. I will sing songs to the Lord, because He is God. I praise Him for His mighty acts of power, kindness, grace, and mercy toward me, I praise Him because of His surpassing greatness. Hallelujah! My Bible says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

God alone is more that worthy of our praises. Go ahead and get your praise on. Let the Praisefest begin!
