PROMISES! PROMISES! PROMISES!

People always make promises, but most of them are never honored. Promises, promises, promises! Life is full of people making promises. Politicians are notorious for making promises. Once they are elected, they develop amnesia.

Promises, promises, promises! Promises are made at weddings. “I, take thee to be my wife/husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.” So why when times get tough, we break our vows? So why, as of today, 39% of marriages in the US are ending in divorce?

Some people use the word “promise” like a promise is nothing more than a good intention that is easily discarded. There is a old cliche’ that says, “promises are made to be broken”. Remember, I did say it was an old cliche' and I am not in agreement with this cliche'. A promise, is a promise, and promises are not meant to be broken.

There is ONE who will make us a promise and it will never be broken. God will never break a promise. Jesus is "The Promise Keeper!" When God makes a promise, it is absolutely trustworthy.

In the Bible, the Old Testament promises us a Messiah and in the New Testament, we receive God’s promises of the Messiah and God’s guidance through the Holy Spirit.

God is always faithful and He is faithful to us in His promises. “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? One has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Numbers 23:19)

God is our Creator and the Lord over all of our lives. His nature is good, merciful, and He is true to His word. God promises reflects His qualities. What He promises, He will deliver.

The Bible is the source of truth and God is faithful to fulfill all of His promises. As you read the Bible about the promises of God, claim them.

Whatever your needs are, give them to God. You need a financial blessing, take it to God. You feel lost, take it to God. If you are hurting, take it to God. If you are feeling depressed, take it to God.

God also gives us an unconditional promise. An unconditional promises is simply one in which God says he will do something, and nothing we can do will stop it from happening. Unconditional promises do not depend on the actions of us, only God. Even if we are unfaithful, God will always be faithful to His Word.

God is a promise keeper, He will never renege on a promise.
