Shackles, those chains that shackle our hearts and our minds. Being shackled causes us to become emotionally depleted and physically de-energized. We become a prisoner in our own bodies. We are starving ourselves from life, as we know it, and become mentally and physically detached from this world. We are shackled with depression, loneliness, hopelessness, sadness, emptiness, pain, and shame. We are shackled with all forms of addictions.
Shackle is whatever is holding you back and that keeps you from moving forward to complete the task that God has given you. If you believe that you can’t achieve your dreams, then that belief is an example of being shackled. The enemy is lying to you and is placing doubt into your mind. He is the killer of all dreams. If God gave you a dream, He will help you fulfill that dream.
Shackles are chains that physically or mentally bounds us. They restrict us, hold us down, hold us back and place us in a mental state of captivity.
They snatch our mental and spiritual freedom from us and affect our behavior, our outlook on life and our faith.
The Bible is full of stories of physical chain breaking and spiritual chains broken by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These stories in the bible are documented so that we would know that there is nothing new under the sun, if it happened to our biblical brothers and sisters it will happen to us. If you were to poll the question to a few faith walkers in the bible, they would tell you about their chains, their shackles. Eve would tell you that she allowed her contentment to be undermined by Satan. Cain would tell you that he reacted out of anger and discouragement. Sarah would say that she had trouble believing God’s promises to her. Nicodemus would say that he feared being seen publicly as a follower of Jesus. Peter would say that he had a tendency to speak without thinking and he was brash and impulsive, at times.
If Jesus was able to break their physical and mental chains back then, He can do it for us today.
“…Let’s break the chains that hold us back and throw off the ropes that tie us down.”
Psalm 2:3
What is keeping you shackled?
There is Power In the Name of Jesus, to Break Every Chain!
