“When you reach the 'end of your rope, you will find the hem of His garment”, Micah 6:8.
Have you ever found yourself standing on the corner of Desperate and Hard Luck? You know that place, where you have exhausted all of your means, and you have completely run out of options. Then you find yourself saying, “if it wasn’t for bad luck, you wouldn’t have any luck at all.” It seems like everybody in the world is against you, and you just can’t catch a break. You find yourself, just stuck, in a bad situation.
When you are at “the end of the rope," the rope has been thrown to you, but you are in a bad and difficult place in life. You are in deep water. You are on the edge of a cliff. In other words, you are in a jam and you are at your wit’s end.
So, now you find yourself traveling through Doomsville, USA. Please remember, that you are just traveling through. As you are passing through, you may have to stop and stay overnight at, “My Last Leg Motel”. You may have to sleep on a bed called, “Worried Sick”. Then lay your head down on a pillow called, “Dog Tired”. Then wake up in the morning with, “In a Tizzy” who greets you with, “Good Morning!” You may have to brush your teeth with a toothpaste named, “Old Man Trouble”. Then, rinse your mouth out with a mouthwash called, “Nervous Wreck”. Then you eat breakfast with someone, whose nickname is, “One Foot in the Grave”. The waitress that serves you, her name is, “Bundle of Nerves”. Then you pay your check with a credit card, issued by “Bummed-Out” National Bank, hoping that the charge will go through, if not, you will be “done for”.
As you get back in your car, to continue your travel through Doomsville, USA, you realize, because of all the stress, your stomach is full of “butterflies'' and this whole day has been another day full of thoughts, that you were, “tired of being sick and tired”. Then you then see a sign that informs you that you are only three miles from “Answered Prayers, USA”. When you arrived in “Answered Prayers, USA'', God informed you, that you were never at “the end of your rope”. When He saw you losing hope, He threw you a life-line. When you felt that you were going to “lose your mind,Grace and Mercy stepped in to calm you and help you self-compose. When you were “climbing up the wall," they helped you mount and scale those “troubled hills''. When you became “fretful," they gave you peace and helped you to relax. When you felt that your life and situation was “doomed and gloomed," they sent Brother Motivation and Sister Hope to spark cheeriness and joy in you.
Whatever you were going through, you were not alone. You always had help, because without God, and the help that He sent, when you felt like “giving up”, He couldn’t allow you to think that you really were on “your deathbed”. No, my child, you were never at “the end of your rope," God never runs out of anything, including “ROPE”.
