The Bible tells us that living things including human beings were made of the dust from the ground. "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7)
So God created human beings in his own image. Psalm 139:14 says that, God made all the delicate, inner parts of my body. He knitted me together within my mother's womb. I was made wonderfully complex. God knew me as, He was designing me, with absolutely so much love.
I didn't just evolved into what I am. I was created and designed with a purpose. And my blueprint is uniquely for me, because there are no two people who are exactly alike.
Did you know that the human body is made up of over 100 trillion cells, 206 bones, 320 pairs of muscles, with 22 internal organs, five being vital organs. It is made up of a head, neck, torso, two arms, and two legs. We have this amazing and complex system, that includes:
Circulatory System: Heart, Blood, Vessels
Respiratory System: Nose, Trachea, Lungs
Immune System: Many types of protein, cells, organs, tissues
Skeletal System: Bones
Excretory System: Lungs, Large Intestine, Kidneys
Urinary System: Bladder, Kidneys
Muscular System: Muscles
Endocrine System: Glands
Digestive System: Mouth, Esophagus, Stomach, Intestines
Nervous System: Brain, Spinal Cord, Nerves
Reproductive System: Male and Female Reproductive Organs
Every square inch of the human body has about 19 million skin cells. Every hour about 1 billion cells in the human body must be replace. The average human head has about 100,000 hairs. The circulatory system of arteries, veins, and capillaries is about 69,000 miles long. The heart beats more than 2.5 billions times in an average lifetime. The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. You blink over 10,000,000 times a year. One fourth of the bones in your body are in your feet. Children tend to grow faster in the spring. The most sensitive finger on the human hand is the index finger. More people have brown eyes than any other color. How amazing!
God created us in His own image, male and female he created. We were created by the Trinity. "Let's us make man in our image, after our likeness," means we were created by the Trinity. We are image bearers of God, and for God's purpose.
We are to live in a relationship with God. We are to live in a relationship with ourselves, knowing who God intends for us to be. We are to live in a relationship with all that God intends for us to be. We are to live in a relationship with other people. We are to live in a relationship with all that God has placed under our dominion, including His animals.
We were created as a person by a personal God. We are not animals, we are made in the "image of God." We are distinct from and superior to all other things that was created. Each of us is unique with dignity, worth, and value.
God made us His image bearers, not because He needed us in any way. He bestowed upon us the dignity of being His image bearer solely for our benefit, not His own. He made us and loves us purely out of grace and at a great cost to Himself.
We was not made to live independently of God, but to be dependent on God. We are dependent on God for His blessings of life and sustenance. Also we are held accountable to God, in obedience. Just like a child is dependent on its parents to take care of them and talk to them, so is our relationship with God.
We are to worship God, in thought, word, and deed. Our lives are supposed to be lived in the light of who God is, what He says, what He does, and what He desires. We are supposed to bring Him glory and joy.
So now you know what you are made of, why you were made, what you are from, and what you were made for. Glory be to the Most High God. Thank you God for blessing us everyday. What a tremendous gift to us, from the ONE that blesses.
