To whisper is to speak very quietly, using the breath but not the voice, so that only the person close to you can hear you. It is the opposite of a shout.
We are truly amazing. We have so much potential. God has given us careers, talent, and position, in this world. To some he gave fame and fortunes. We have become people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us. We are joined to Jesus. “The mountain and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end” (Isaiah 54:10).
Sometimes we have the tendency to think in order for someone to get our attention, they may need to shout, but sometimes they get our full attention through a whisper. God whispers to us and sometimes the whisper is so soft that we may ignore it, Not only does God whisper to us, Satan whispers to us too. What does Satan whisper to us? LIES!
These are some of the LIES Satan may tell us. God doesn’t want to hear from you anymore. Not after you ignored him for so long. God won’t forgive you, for what you did. You are not good enough. You will never have peace in your life or in this world. You are not worth anything and you never will be worth anything. God will never forgive you of your sins. It’s okay to do that, because God will forgive you. No one loves you, not even God. You don’t need anyone, including God. Where was God when you needed him? He let you lose your job! He took your mother from you!
Satan wants you to doubt God. Don’t allow your circumstances to determine your God, but let God determine your circumstances.
Satan wants you to live in fear. Fear is not the absence of faith, it is the misplacement of faith. Psalm 3:4, “…he delivered me from all my fears.” Satan wants to lead you away from God. 2 Timothy 4:3 says, “For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires.”
Satan wants you to believe that when you sin, or fall short, that God is angry with you, and he will put in your head that God has washed His hands of you. He also wants you to believe that God is turning away from you. Satan tells you that God doesn’t love you anymore and there isn’t anything that you can do about it. NO! God loves you! He is absolutely crazy about you. The Father’s love for us is some much bigger than we can ever imagine. Even at our worst and darkest moment, He gave His only begotten Son, to pay for our sins.
God calls us to “be alert and of sober mind, watching out for the schemes of the devil who prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1Peter 5:8).
God tells us that we are completely accepted. Jesus made us acceptable. We are unconditionally loved. We are totally forgiven. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. We are extremely valuable to Him. We are His children and we have been bought with a price.
God loves us and has a plan for us. “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). That’s a complete life full of purpose. His purpose for us.
God is a dream fulfiller. Satan is a dream killer.
God allows us to live by faith. Satan wants us to live in fear.
God gives us hope. Satan gives us doubts.
God builds us up. Satan tears us down.
God provides us life. Satan serves us death.
God provides us with love. Satan instills in us hate.
God wants us to believe. Satan wants us in a state of unbelief.
God delights in us. God rejoices over us. God calls us His children.
God is always with us and for us. We just need to be “tuned-in” to Him, to listen for His whispers.
