Our journey in this life, begins the day we are born. Our life is being recorded every second of each day. Someone is keeping a journal of our life, but it is a different type of journaling that is being written about our day to day life. It is not about life as we see it, but as God sees it.
God is Omniscient, that means that He is an all-knowing God. He knows absolutely everything, and at all times. The Bible tells us a number of records that God keeps. Records are kept that reflects His power, faithfulness, tenderheartedness, and love. As believers, our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. "I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works" (Revelation 20:12).
The Bible says that every thing that we say and do, we will be held accountable. "I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned" (Matthew 12:36-37). God is keeping records. The Bible provides proof of such records:
Records on non-Christians:
"Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire"(Revelation 20:15).
Hairs on our heads:
"The very hairs on your head are all numbered" (Matthew 10:30).
Our tears:
"Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?" (Psalm 56:8)
Our physical features:
"Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them" (Psalm 139:16).
Every word spoken:
"I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment" (Matthew 12:36).
Every Godly work:
"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister" (Hebrews 6:10).
Kingdom building:
"Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal" (Matthew 6:20).
Fear of God:
"Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name" (Malachi 3:16).
Believers:
"And there shall in no wise enter into it (into the New Jerusalem) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life" (Revelation 21:27).
Your are the author of your story. How will your book look to God? Will God approve or disapprove of your life's book? What would the front cover look like? Each book is made up of three main parts: front matter, body matter, and end matter. That's the story of our life. The front matter, is the beginning of our life. The body matter, is the story of our life. The end matter, is the ending of our life. Then there is the eternal matter, whether saved or unsaved. When your life is over on this side of heaven, your eternity will be according to how you have lived your life, damnation or heaven. For the Believer it will be, absent from the body, but present with the LORD.

All you have to do is believe you are a sinner, that Christ died for your sins, and ask for His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins, that is called repentance. "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31). God has already done all of the work. All you must do is believe by faith, the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This is the salvation that God offers, to fully trust in Jesus as the payment for your sins. God is offering you salvation as a gift. All you have to do is accept it. Jesus is the way to salvation. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).
Once you have given your life to Christ, the last chapter of your book has been sealed by the Holy Spirit. Once you have been saved, the Holy Spirit assures you of our salvation in Christ and lets us know with certainty that you have been adopted into the family of God as His child.
