A GOOD WORD

Appreciation, gratitude, inspiring, possibilities, succeed, values, respectful, joy, compassion, believe, creative, love, joyfulness, peace, motivate, goodness, happy, fearless, hope, and empower are some examples of some “good words”.

Proverbs 15:4, “Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”

Without words a thought would be difficult to become a reality. Words have energy and power and the ability to help, heal, hurt, humiliate, and humble.

Words have power. Words can be positive and beautiful. Words can lift someone up and words can tear someone down. Words have the ability to change lives. Words can build up a relationship and words can destroy a relationship. Words can bring peace and words can create wars.

Words can create a reality too. Did you know that we will be accountable before God, for every word that comes out of our mouth? Matthew 12:36 says, “And I tell you this, that you must give account on Judgment Day for every word you speak. Your words now reflect your fate then: either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned.”

Jesus reminds us that what we say reveals what is in our hearts. So what kind of words come from your mouth? That is an indication of what your heart is really like. The mouth says what the heart feels. You can clean your speech up, but if the heart hasn’t changed, there is still a problem with the heart. Only the Holy Spirit can change your heart. He can put a transforming power on your heart, which is better than a heart transplant. “A good word makes the heart glad.” (Proverbs 12:25)

Where can you get a “good word?” Philippians 4:8 tells us, “Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others.” This is a “good word.”

What we put into our minds also, determines what comes out in our words and through our actions. Examine what you are putting into your mind through books, movies, and television. Above all, read God’s Word, the Bible. Pray daily, sing songs — praising songs, and practice saying encouraging words.

These “good words” will bring joy and peace to your heart through the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for THIS blog! I needed to hear that what comes out of your mouth is really from your heart. I pray that I reflect always love and compassion of JESUS CHRIST from my heart through my words.
