DIS-EASE!

When God wants you to grow, He will make you feel uncomfortable. I am feeling uncomfortable now because I know that I am going through a metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one by natural or supernatural means.

Dis-ease is the biggest killer of progress. If you want a chance of living an extraordinary life, you will have to experience some dis-ease and this will make you feel very uncomfortable.

We will go to any length to avoid pain and feeling uncomfortable. We do want pleasure, but unfortunately, this may cause you to just settle for mediocrity. Settling will lead to a whole host of problems and will prevent you from living in your purpose. I mean literally walking into your purpose.

I hate to tell you, but growth comes with a price. Believe it or not, there is opportunity in adversity. While God is preparing you to walking into your purpose, at the right moment, this will bring about a difficult time in your life. This time is a very interesting time and is a crucial part of getting the best out of your life. At that moment, goals, accomplishments, and victory will also become obtainable.

When you become uncomfortable, that is when you start growing. God will give you opportunities, but it is up to you if you accept them. It is up to you, as to what you will do with them. You will find yourself in a “use it” or “lose it” situation. God will not force you into it. He will just open the door for you to walk through, to go and get it. When the door is opened, only you can go and get it.

The only way to obtain your dream, you will have to go through a little discomfort. Your purpose, your dream, is just one step away from your comfort zone. Just one step away! When you make that one step, the magic begins to happen: that frightening job interview may give you a shot at your dream job; the initiative to start your business or product line is just one step away; or publishing your books may give you a chance to make a difference in someone’s life.

“Growth is often uncomfortable, messy, and full of feelings you were not expecting, but it is necessary.”

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

God has a habit of calling those He loves into difficult situations. He called Abraham to leave his home and to wander around in a strange land. He called Moses to stand before Pharaoh. He allowed Daniel to be tossed in the lion’s den, because he kept praying despite a decree.

So why do you think that you can get "off the hook?" No one wants to be uncomfortable, especially me. Many of us experience “dis-ease” in our daily life. Being a Christian isn’t easy and the life of faith and obedience is not a comfortable one. As a child of God, our life will be rich, because it is saturated with the power, presence, and provisions of God.

What is God calling you to do today? Is He offering you comfort or dis-ease? Remember, there is opportunity in adversity and dis-ease.
