The Names of God, "El Elohe Yisrael." It means, "The Mighty God of Israel."

"And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram: and pitched his tent before the city. And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for an hundred pieces of money. And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel" Genesis 33:18-20.

Jacob fled Canaan to find a wife among his distant relatives. Jacob made a vow, "If God will be with me...and I return to my father's house in safety, then the LORD will be my God" (Genesis 28:21). He was gone some 20 years and the first thing he did upon his arrival back home and after wrestling with the angel of the Lord, was erect an altar and call it El Elohe Yisrael.
