God has issued us a B.O.L.O. He reminds us to "Be On the Lookout" for these fugitives that are roaming the earth in disguise. Their names are Greed and Greedy.
When confronted by them, run! Greed and its cousins goes much further than money. Greed can make you greedy for fame, possessions, attention, compliments, food, and so much more. Greed is a disease. It is a disease of the heart and it affects every area of your life. Greed is always self-centered and it is never, ever satisfied.
If you are looking for love, you will never find it in Greed. Do not fall in love with Greed or any of its cousins. Greed will never love you back. Greed's cousins goes by the names of Immorality, Craving, Excess, Indulgence, Arrogance, Jealousy, Gluttony, Egotism, Selfishness, and Pride.
Don't even associate with Greed, because Greed is destructive. Greed is always taking and it never gives. Greed will steal from you. Greed doesn't care who it hurt. Greed is more additive than drugs. It makes you crave for more and more of it.
Greedy ruins families. It brings ruin to their households, because Greedy is insensitive. Greedy is unclean. Greedy indulge in every kind of impurity. Greedy is nothing but trouble. Greedy will lead you to commit a crime. Greedy causes quarrels and fights.
Greed will lead you into darkness. Greed make people want what they want, and want what they don't have. Some people will kill for them. They can't afford things so they start a fight or robbery or even kill, to take it away from someone.
Greed is a snare, a trap. Greed isn't content with anything. Greed has a love for money. The love for money leads to evil.
Greedy tempts you into many foolish, harmful, and lustful things, that will lead you to destruction. Greedy, if left unchecked has the insatiable desire for more, and this can be destructive.
Greed is self-centered. Greedy people are always about, "me, me, me." They are always about "me, myself, and I." Greed has no regard for the needs and feelings of others.
Greed and jealousy are like twins. While Greed is a strong desire for more, such as wealth, power, or food, Jealousy goes one step further and it includes a strong desire by Greedy people for the possessions of others. Greed opens the door to sins and you will find yourself pushing farther from God and what He has for your life.
Greed is never satisfied and Greedy lacks empathy. Greedy doesn't want a piece of the pie, it wants the whole pie. Greed doesn't believe in sharing. Greedy doesn't care about anyone's feelings. Greedy doesn't care about causing you pain. Greed and Greedy are not your friends. Greed and Greedy are your enemies. You must protect yourself against Greed and Greedy.
Don't entertain Greed. Don't socialize with Greedy. Don't have a conversation with Greed nor Greedy. Make sure you always separate yourself from them both. If you are ever confronted by Greed or Greedy, RUN! Run for your life! If you can't out run them, then you will have to defend yourself, you must destroy them. If you don't destroy them, they will destroy you.
Luke 12:15 says, "Then he said to them, 'Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
