IN GOOD HANDS

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

Allstate’s slogan “You’re in good hands” was created in the 1950s by Allstate Insurance Company’s sales executive, Davis W. Ellis based on a similar phrase he used to reassure his wife about a doctor caring for their child. It has been the slogan ever since 1950.

What does, “you are in good hands” mean? It means something like the person whose is looking after you, or responsible for you, knows what they are doing and is an expert. You will be safe with them.

In these troubling times, it seems or appears that every time that you think that things are getting better, things are actually getting worse. It's like we are in the middle of a storm and it just won't let up. It’s difficult to not lose faith in the heat of the storm, especially when you've been in it for so long.

How can you not become sick and tired, when you have been standing in the midst of what you are going through for so long? Every day you are fighting the good fight and the enemy keeps confronting you and taunting you. The enemy is whooping down upon you, and all you can do is, just hold on. You are believing in God that help is on the way, but when. There are some days you just can’t stop the tears from falling from your eyes. Some nights you are so exhausted from fighting the good fight that you barely feel like praying, so you may just say, help me Father.

You are at the point of extreme frustration. You are fighting, but you don’t feel that you are winning. It's like you are running in place. You are running for Christ, but you feel as though you are not getting anywhere. You are praying, and still you are being persecuted. You are being faithful and yet sometimes you feel as though you are forsaken.

You feel God’s anointing and sometimes anger will creep in. Some of you are full of praise, but the harder the battle, some doubt will slip in. So what do you do?

I know you feel like falling down, but don’t fall. I know someone may feel like letting go, please don’t let go. Maybe someone may feel like giving up, please don’t. Put every situation and every problem into God’s hands. King David said in 2 Samuel 24:14, “I am in great distress. Let us fall into the hand of the Lord, for his mercy is great; but let me not fall into the hand of man.” Only God’s hands are strong enough to keep you from falling. Only God’s hands are wide enough to hold you up and give you the strength to move forward and onward, for His purpose.

Whatever is perplexing you, whatever is producing worry and anxiety in you, whether it be wrong choices, bad investments, no investments, dental work, surgery, IRS, gaining weight, losing weight, credit card debt, or just trying to use your computer. Don’t worry, you’re in good hands. God got you covered. Jesus is better than Allstate. Jesus offers us the best insurance policy ever. There are no deductibles. No out-of-pocket expenses. No exclusions and there are no limited coverage. There will never be a need for GAP Insurance. With Jesus, you have complete coverage and you are fully covered. Put all of your concerns in His hands, and allow Him to hold your hands, while you rest in His.

You are in good hands in Jesus’ hands!
