We only have one life to live on this earth. It is a “one and done” life.
Once it’s “one and done," it is accomplished, completed, concluded, consummated, ended, executed, finished, over, perfected, realized, ready, finished, and through.
You only have one life to live, on this earth. “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” James 4:14 NKJV.
Life is too precious to waste. Life is a gift that has been given to each of us and we should make the most of it, with Christ. God gave us this wonderful gift of life and He also tells us, how we should live our life. He wants us to be careful of how we talk and walk. We are supposed to live a life, purposefully and worthily, and not unwise and foolishly.
Live purposely, is to live a life guided by His purpose. A purpose is something that you live for, a reason for the things that you do.
The Bible says that our purpose of life, is to love and trust and obey, God. To trust that He has nothing but love for us, and He would not tell us to do something, without a good reason, and for our good. In Ecclesiastes 12:13, King Solomon wrote, 'The conclusion of the matter, everything have been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole obligation of man.” Serving God and keeping his commands is not only the whole obligation of mankind, but it also our purpose.
We were created for God’s glory and honor. God created us in His image and likeness. Now since He created us to look like him, He would want us to act like him, to love like Him, to treat people the way he would treat them. He want us to love Him first, then love one another, as He loves us.
Our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. How do we glorify God? We glorify God by fearing and obeying Him. By keeping our eyes on our future home, that is in heaven. We are supposed to develop a relationship with God, not just any kind of relationship, but an intimate relationship.
God wants us to stay in-tuned with him, by talking to him and making him inclusive in our lives. He wants to be included and part of every single detail. The small, trivial things and the most important ones as well. He loves us and enjoys us and He wants us to follow His purpose for our lives. This enables us to experience true and lasting joy, the kind of joy that only He can give. He desires that we have an abundant life because He wants the best for us. And when our life is over, we will see him in our next life, in our heavenly home, and there we can behold God’s face and fellowship with Him, in our new heavenly bodies.
