SCANDALOUS!

WOW! I got some tea to spill today. Come closer! No, closer! You will never guess what it is. Honey child, this is something to talk about. It is outright scandalous.

There is a love story that would scandalize even the most ardent Fifty Shades of Grey fans. What you say? Oh, yeessss!

This story I am about to share is filled with passion adultery, murder, desire, molestation, pleasure, envy, greed, theft, pride, backstabbing, black mail, incest and prostitution.

You know this story. You may even have this book next to your copies of Fifty Shades.

It started the very moment God began to set the stage for our Savior, Jesus, to redeem Adam and Eve from sin and set us free. Stories, stuff and scandal begins to unfold. All the scandal that I have referenced started happening. It plays out, in the Bible, book after book. The pages of Genesis begins this love story. You probably know it better than I do. In Genesis, there is lying and murder. In 2 Samuel, there is adultery and murder. In Joshua, there is prostitution. In 1 Kings, there is murder and theft. In Daniel, there is attempted rape and lying. In Mark, there is murder and lust. In 2 Samuel, there is adultery. Also, in Romans, there is back-stabbing. In Leviiticus, there is incest. In Deuteronomy, there is rape. In 2 Thessalonians, there is black-mailing. You name it, it exists in the Bible. Scandalous!

While reading the Bible, there will be some jaw dropping moments. There are all kinds of characters and characteristics displayed and revealed and they lead up to the most scandalous act in all of human history. Yes, King Solomon was correct, there is nothing new under the sun, no, not nothing.

Because God loves us so much, God became man in the person of Jesus Christ. He lived among us while we were still yet sinners and chose to die for us and that’s for every, single one of us. He died the most humiliating and painful death for those who loved him, hated him, or who are indifferent to him, that we all might have a chance to be eternally saved from death.

The Gospel is a love story centered on a God who wouldn’t give up pursuing us. He loved us so intensely that he set the stage for the most dramatic story ever told. So that in the perfect time he would come in and save the day and save us. Jesus became man, lived, died, and rose again so that He could literally spend eternity with us. AMAZING!

This is a love story that is worth telling over and over again. This is a story that shows our worth to God, and God’s redemptive power, in spite of the ways we have rejected God. This is a story that has impacted the past, our present and the future. It is a true love story that no other story nor love story dare to be compared. It is “The Love Story” of all times. How awesome is that?
