John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.”
The “Truth”! I promise to tell the truth and nothing but the truth so help me, God. That is the sworn testimony that is given by a witness in court, raising their right hand, with their left hand resting on the Holy Bible.
The oath: Do you solemnly swear that you will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God? If not the truth be told, they will be charged with the crime of perjury.
But what do you do when you are surrounded by lies and liars? There are people who are compulsive liars. You can ask a person the most innocent of questions, and what will you receive, a lie in response.
You don’t even have to open your mouth to deceive people, just don’t tell them what you don’t want them to know. The enemy is full of lies and so are his soldiers.
Those who lie, twist life so that it looks attractive and powerful. Lies don’t do anything but hurt and is deceitful. They don’t have any true power, except the false sense of power to the liar. Lies don’t help anything, fix anything, or cure anything. Lies destroy one’s character, not develop it. It wounds the mind, the heart, the spirit, and the soul.
Jesus is the “Truth’! You don’t have to listen to lies and you must not believe the lies nor the liars. So what do you do? Turn to God and to God’s Word. God’s Word is the “Truth”. The “Truth," you must read it. You must think it. You must pray it. You must declare it.
Christ Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). That is a wonderful promise that can be taken seriously and can never be broken. You can find encouragement, joy, peace, healing, and strength in God’s never changing “Truth”.
Regardless of what’s troubling you, be it a difficulty, illness, financial hardship, a troubled relationship, or anything else, consolation can be found in the Word of God, “The Truth”.
